"I am in contact with Cardinal Pizzaballa, who, together with Patriarch Theophilus, is entering Gaza with a shipment of 500 tons of aid for the civilian population." This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, who added: "The Italian government calls on Israel to cease military action and fully guarantee the safety of the two envoys on their important mission. Israel and Hamas must reach a ceasefire, the war in Gaza must end, and we must definitively choose the path of diplomatic negotiation to halt the attacks targeting the civilian population, to free all Israeli hostages, and to allow the necessary aid to enter as quickly as possible."
